Common forms of crankshaft damage include journal wear, cracks, erosion, bending, twisting, and fracture. Generally speaking, crankshafts that are severely eroded, have cracks, or are already fractured cannot be repaired and must be scrapped; for crankshafts that are bent or twisted beyond a certain limit, we can use pressure correction methods to repair them.
For excessively worn crankshafts, we can grind them to the specified repair size and then select corresponding oversized bearings to restore the clearance; if the wear is severe, we can also use vibration cladding or thermal spraying to fill in the defective areas and then machine them to the specified repair size.
However, there is one important point to note: after grinding the crankshaft, it must undergo nitriding treatment again; otherwise, there is a risk of fracture.
