Many people know that changing the oil is a basic maintenance consumable for the engine, but many may not realize that engine cleaning is also a very important maintenance step, especially for older vehicles with higher mileage. Regular engine cleaning at fixed intervals and mileage can restore your car's performance and fuel efficiency to that of a new car while optimizing oil operation.
A very cost-effective maintenance investment.
Older cars require more careful maintenance; usually, a small maintenance investment can restore your car's performance to that of a new vehicle.
The U-Dao crankcase and oil pan cleaning fluid is made with the latest high-tech formula, using refined petroleum as a solvent, featuring unique powerful cleaning technology. The correct usage method is to first drain the dirty oil from the engine completely, then add the same proportion of cleaning fluid based on the original oil change volume into the engine. Next, run the engine (idle speed only, do not rev high) for about ten to fifteen minutes, then drain the engine cleaner again. Finally, add new oil to complete the entire engine cleaning process, which takes about twenty minutes. Alternatively, professional equipment can be used for cleaning.
* It is best to replace the oil pan drain plug gasket every time you change the oil. From this image, it can be seen that there are some dents on the gasket below; if serious, it could lead to an oil leak crisis!
The tested vehicle is an eight-year-old Honda Civic with a mileage of 240,000 kilometers. After completing the engine cleaning, my first impression was that the throttle response became lighter and acceleration performance improved compared to before. Most importantly, after two tanks of fuel during fuel consumption testing, it originally could only travel about 380 km on a full tank but improved to now travel 410 km on one tank of fuel; fuel consumption decreased by 8%.
During actual testing, I found that nearly five liters of solvent leaked out after using four liters of cleaning fluid! According to U-Dao technicians' explanation, this is because the cleaning fluid effectively cleans out sludge from inside the engine. They have encountered an old BMW where eight liters of cleaning fluid were added but eleven liters leaked out! This is mainly because sludge accumulates inside engine components as mileage increases; this sludge does not easily come out during an oil change and accumulates in internal parts of the engine. Of course, this also contributes to reduced power and increased fuel consumption. Conversely, it is not recommended to perform engine cleaning on new cars—not because this solvent would harm them but because its effects are less noticeable after use.
The internal operating temperature of an engine is very high; under constant temperature fluctuations between high and low temperatures, dirty oil often leaks out in terrible condition! The thickness of sludge adhering to internal components also increases.
Used in conjunction with professional cleaning equipment.
Throttle response becomes faster and lighter; fuel consumption decreases by about 8%.
